Joanna K. Gilmore
Partner
Joanna has degrees in archaeology, bioarchaeology and museum studies. She is an adjunct assistant professor at the College of Charleston and is especially interested in researching and sharing untold stories through inclusive interpretation, education programs and exhibition design. In addition to teaching, Joanna is director of research and interpretation for the Anson Street African Burial Ground project, an working group focused on preserving and protecting Gullah Geechee burial grounds. Joanna also serves as an exhibition designer for the College of Charleston Committee on Commemoration and Landscapes, which seeks to uncover and share hidden histories associated with the institution.
Dr. R. Grant Gilmore III
Partner
Grant has degrees in government and history, zooarchaeology, and historical archaeology. He is a recognized leader in Heritage Management and Education with over 25 years of experience in NGO development, fundraising, teaching, and research. He is currently the Director of Historic Preservation and Community Planning at the College of Charleston and holds the Addlestone Chair in Historic Preservation. Grant also serves on the Board of Trustees for US/ICOMOS World Heritage USA. His research interests include slavery and its impacts on societies, the origins of capitalism within Caribbean economies, religious sites, vernacular architecture, heritage management, historic preservation and public archaeology
